Informed by an indigenist-stress coping model, and a historical trauma and healing-centered engagement framework, this workshop provides an overview of culturally-responsive strategies for clinical practice with African-Americans who are navigating historical and contemporary traumatic pain.
Resource – Post-Conviction Technical Assistance is Available
NCVLI’s Legal Team works to provide technical assistance on the meaning and scope of post-conviction victims’ rights in the form of legal research, writing and strategic and policy advice for attorneys, advocates, judges and legislatures across the country.
Announcement – Defending Victims’ Rights to Privacy
Last month NCVLI, along with co-amici Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault and Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation, submitted a brief in People v. Gomez-Ramirez in support of a petition before the Appellate Court of Illinois to protect a crime victim’s privacy.

Resources – Weekly Update 17 Aug 2020
We will further reduce the number of times the DVS COVID-19 Resource Log and emails are sent. Next week, there will not be a Weekly Update. On August 31st the full log with information from the beginning to present, including items sent via emails since the beginning of August, will be forwarded to you. And then, on September 14th we will send an email update and on September 28th the full DVS COVID-19 Resource Log. We will, however, continue to forward items needing immediate or timely attention.
