What We Do

We strive to support advocates in their practice of remaining strengths-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive when working with survivors, victims, and their families. With an eye toward collective collaboration, our aims are to:

  • Build a professional learning community of crime victim service advocates, designed to enhance networking, support and information sharing across the state;
  • Provide state-of-the-art trainings and technical assistance designed to ensure that Michigan’s advocates have the most up-to-date information and skills;
  • Continue to assess the comprehensive support needs of crime victim advocates across Michigan, particularly programmatic, organizational, staffing and training needs;
  • Systematically evaluate all of the activities conducted within this project, and use findings to inform and improve future efforts.
