“This report provides official estimates of criminal victimizations reported and not reported to police from the National Crime Victimization Survey. It describes the characteristics of crimes, victims, and offenders… Based on the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS), the nation’s largest crime survey, the portion of U.S. residents age 12 or older who were victims of one or more violent crimes excluding simple assault declined from 0.50% (about 1 in 200 persons) in 2018 to 0.44% (about 1 in 230 persons) in 2019, a 12% decrease”
